ALEX STANIFORTH - Adventurer
Alex Staniforth is a two-time Everest disaster survivor, record-breaking adventurer, and expert in resilience. While many focus on his near-death experiences on the world’s highest peak, his toughest battles have been much closer to home—overcoming epilepsy, a lifelong stammer, bullying, depression, and eating disorders.
Alex’s story is one of relentless determination. After surviving avalanches on two Everest attempts, he has since conquered personal and physical summits alike. From raising over £100,000 for charity to becoming the fastest person to climb all 100 UK county tops in just 72 days, his resilience has redefined what’s possible. In 2020, Alex ran 452 miles between the UK’s Three Peaks in 9 days and 12 hours, pushing the limits of ultra-endurance.
As the founder of Mind Over Mountains, Alex champions the power of nature to restore mental well-being. His authenticity and vulnerability resonate deeply with audiences, and he has inspired global organisations like Rolls-Royce, Samsung, and the NHS. Through his keynotes, workshops, and books Icefall and Another Peak (endorsed by Bear Grylls and Mark Beaumont), Alex equips teams and individuals with practical tools to overcome adversity, embrace change, and build lasting resilience.
More than just a story of survival, Alex’s journey is about turning setbacks into stepping stones and helping others climb their own ‘Everests’, no matter the scale of the challenge.
